Excavation
Where a repair by patch or liner is not possible - either due to the severity of the damage, or where pipe diameters vary over the length of the drain run, UKDN technicians are able to offer a full excavation and replacement service.

'Before' photographs are taken of the area to be excavated to provide an accurate record of the condition of the surface prior to works commencing.
The surface, whether concrete, tarmac, block or flag paving, grass or flowerbeds, is carefully removed and kept for reinstatement after completion of works.
Old pipework is removed and replaced with new pipes to a standard that meets current building regulations. The trench is back filled with aggregate and soil and the surface reinstated to its original condition. Finally, 'after' photographs are taken to provide a clear audit trail of the works undertaken.
During an excavation, which may take up to several days, UKDN technicians ensure that drains are not out of use for any more time than is absolutely necessary, and in any event, are reconnected at the end of each day. Where this is not possible, an alternative temporary system is put into place for the duration of works.
