Claims resolved faster and more efficiently with an improved claim management system

UKDN (The UK Drainage Network Ltd) has streamlined its claims management system to make the business more efficient and flexible, thereby improving customer service. The move involves the decentralisation of activities that had previously been under the control of the drainage specialist’s headquarters. This gives its regional offices more control and authority over the claims process, ultimately making it faster.

Since the six-way merger operation of UKDN with its founding contractors, the company’s aim has been to make the business as efficient as possible – reducing claim completion times while providing a fast, cost effective service and timely and appropriate drain solutions for its insurance customers.

As part of this process, UKDN has streamlined many parts of its business, with the latest improvement being to its claim management system. Claims will now be processed by the relevant technical experts at local bases – of which there are 10 across the country – rather than having to be passed back to the head office for approval, leading to a faster, more flexible service which allows local knowledge to be used more effectively.

Greg Beech, UKDN’s chief executive officer, said: “We have very ambitious plans for UKDN, and since the merger we have been continually improving our systems and processes on an ongoing basis, ensuring customers are receiving a progressive, well managed service. Our operations are being streamlined to make them as efficient and focused as possible, and giving our local offices delegated authority and more responsibility means claims will be handled faster, by regional technical experts with knowledge about the local area – which is a real benefit to insurance companies.”
